Hello,

Is it possible to set the user policies so that one user logs onto a workstation with a screen resolution of 640x480 and another logs on at 800x600 ?

Thanks for any help !

Welp - I did this like years ago, but here's how.

Server: WinNT4.0
Client: Win98

On Client:
Make sure "each user has thier own desktop settings" .. Something like that in CONTROL PANEL >> PASSWORDS >> Profiles.

Basically enable profiles...

Log on as user A (he'll be the 640 one) and set the desktop res how you want it.

Log off - Log on as user B (he's the 800 guy), change desktop to 800, etc..

When you log on as A, you should get 640. When you log on as B, you should get 800.

Then - Use POLEDIT to restrict the ablilty to change res. That's it..

For NT and 2K clients.. It's a little diffnt, but the same. Log in, Choose your RES, log out, lock down. When they log in, they SHOULD get the settings that you've set for them when you first logged on as them and changed the res and stuff.

Hello,

For information I bodged around this one by putting a batch file pointing to program called Multires in the start up folder of the particular user concerned.

It seems to work after a fashion.
