I have a chart that is a "Trend" Line chart. It shows data month to month. I have the "on change of" as field "Date". "Date" shows in month-year format (Mar-2002). The problem is that when the the chart is previewed, it goes in assending order alphabetically on the month, causing problems. The only options I can find in Version 8.0 is assending, decending and specified. I would use specified, but it will cause problems for 2003, 2004, etc. Does anyone have any other options?

Thanks,

Hi Hawk45,
I'm having the same issue in a couple of the reports/charts that I'm currently developing. My work around has been to use a formula to parse out the month as it's numeric value so that the months display in the correct order. In my reports which also have the capability of spanning 12+ months, I group by Year # and then Month #. Unfortunately, my months don't display as 'January'....'December' but as 01....12, at least they are in the correct order.

If your chart doesn't need to be drilled down (which, of course, mine do) then you can probably use the Advanced Layout button on the Data tab of the Chart expert. It will allow you to 'order' your months specifically.

Thanks everyone for your help. I am going to give these things a try and see how they work.
