I am trying to set the current date as a default value in one of my text boxes on a form. Normally, I could simply enter =Date() in the control source field. However, since I am writing the form data back to the table, I am unsure how to keep the original table name in the control source and still have the current date save. I have tried entering =Date() in the table default value also, but it returns 4/10/10.

Any assistance would be most appreciated!

Unfortunately, that is not working either. Any other ideas?

Have you tried setting the default date at the table level rather than on the form?

Actually, I had, which is why it was so frustrating for me!!!! I finally recreated the table, and it worked without any issues. Who knows what THAT is all about. Must be time to go home!

Thanks to both of you for your input!

Remember that graphic objects like forms and tables are really code. There are instances, particularly with forms, where it LOOKS okay, but the code underneath is whacked. So recreating the object is the only practical way of unscrambling the underlying code.

Glad you got it fixed.
