I would like to be able to reopen a text box that has a vertical scroll bar exactly as it was when I closed it. In other words I need to remember the position of the insertion point (easy: SelStart) and the position of the scroll bar. Unfortunately I cannot fathom out how to remember (and then set) the scroll bar position. Any suggestions?

I don't know off-hand if Access (any version) provides a way to get at the scroll bar of a text-box at all.

But you might be able to find something in the Windows APIs for your version(s) of Windows. The API's can be declared and used just like other functions in VB. You can find out more about API's by looking in Windows API forum(s) and VB forum(s). More than one post mentions an API database that someone was providing for free a while back, which included definitions, declarations, descriptions, and use examples. It was a fantastic resource, and worth looking for if you want to get at functionality of the operating system.

Hello CVigil,

Thank you for your thoughts. I have indeed sometimes used API-calls in VB programmes, but was hoping there was an easier alternative in this case. Apparently not!

Best wishes,

Peter D.
