Set Relocation query 1

Hey. I was wondering if anyone knew how long any particular phone can be left unplugged when trying to use set relocation? For example, in the coming weeks i expect to be powering down a system and unplugging all handsets and relocating quite a bit of stuff. I don't want to plug phones in to their new location untill i am absolutely sure that that is where they should be, so that i do not loose the programming in the phone. So does anyone have an idea how long the phones will store the programming? Thanks in advance.

they should be there for ever ... but not 100% sure.
If possible, dont rely on just set relocation alone

No i have the programming info written down incase set relocation fails. Just checking to see how long the phones store the programming in memory.

I do not think it is the phones. The way it works from what I understand is the phone has a unique ID a bit like a Mac address on a computer. When the BCM sees that unique ID it sends the config held in the system for that handset. Similar to a reserved IP address on a windows server.

That is what i was wondering also. Are you certain about that? That was one of my initial thoughts, it would be great if someone could confirm it. Oh by the way i'm talking about a mics and not a bcm just clarifying that. Thanks man

Each set has a chip in it, I think it is called an SSR chip, it stores KSU info and set info. Nortel says it will hold info for 30 days, it will last longer.
