Hi,

I am programmably in VBA in Excel creating an Access database.

From excel how do i set the actual width of a field in a table, so when i go into access to view the records, i dont have to constantly, manually change the field widths.

how do i do this?

thanks in advance,

Hi thepunisher,

If I understand you correctly, thread705-785000 in the Access VBA Forum shows how to do it for a Query within Access. Change Querydefs to Tabledefs to do it for a table, and qualify it with the app if doing it from Excel.

From memory I think the property always exists but, if not, you will have to add it. A search (on Create Property perhaps) should turn up some code to do that.

Enjoy,
Tony
