Hi all,

A little confuse on this question , since Session Manager handles all the SiP entities, i wonder if a PSTN trunk like a digital trunk (E1) can be either integrated or use as a route for both inbound outbound call.

Please post a suggestion ,it will help.

Thanks !

Well, E1 isn't SIP, so no, not directly.

Now, you probably have a PBX that can be SIP trunked to Session Manager. So, your E1 can go in that and pass along to SM.

You can also get a basic SIP-ISDN gateway like an Audiocodes M1000 to take the E1 and convert to VoIP/SIP to send to SM.

It's a pretty common configuration as far as migration strategies are concerned. Keep the old PBX with the ISDN trunks as-is, SIP integrate to SM and have your next system connected to SM as well so you can slowly migrate the users in groups from the old system to the new system.

What are you trying to do?

Hello ,

Slightly the senario,

SIP trunk exists on SM, but also there are existing E1 trunk connected to MGC card on the PBX, we want to migrate all the lines handle by the E1 trunk on the existing Sip trunk on Session Manager, since they are all digital the question is how to proceed .

Thanks !

I still don't understand what you're trying to do.

If you have a CS1000 with a MGC card and a gateway with a E1 trunk connected to Session Manager, then that means you can get ISDN trunks into SIP.

Session Manager only does SIP. ISDN cannot do SIP. You need a system that does both ISDN and SIP - it sounds like you already have this.

What are you trying to do? If your CS1000 does nothing but this E1-->SIP, then it can be replaced with a small media gateway.

Thanks for your reply,

It s a huge call center infrastructure for which (CS1K - SBC - QM - ACR - SM -AACC are involved) and not have plan for additional hardware, what i am trying to do is to migrate all the existing lines that are on E1 to SIP, since we actually have a SIP trunk for those others that are SIP line on Session Manager.

Thanks !
