Is there a way on the G3v6 to monitor an agent's call (from another area) and talk the agent while the caller doesn't know? I've seen this feature on my DAVOX autodialer call "Coaching".

I believe from version R6.3 on there's a feature called Whisper Paging. From the R6 Feature Description:

"You administer Whisper Page by assigning a FAC or programming a feature button with a lamp to the terminal. To activate Whisper Page, a user dials the FAC or presses the feature button, and then dials the extension of the user they are trying to reach.
- If the paged party is not busy, this Whisper Page activation is converted to a nondivertable priority station-to-station call. This priority call is labeled as nondivertable because all switch diversion features are overridden by this call. For example, if the station user has Call Forwarding — All Calls enabled, this nondivertable priority call still rings the dialed station in which normal priority calls follow the forwarding treatment of the station.
- If the paged party is busy, the paging party, the paged party, and all parties on the call hear a tone being played to announce the intrusion. After the tone is complete, the paging party is able to speak to the paged party only. The paging party is not heard by any other party, and the
paging party is not able to hear any portion of the existing call. The paged party can ignore the page or choose to answer it."

The caller will also hear the intrusion tone, I don't know if you can turn it of, but you CAN customize it, and that opens possibilities :) :
"A new tone type, Whisper Page Announce, allows customers to customize the tones to whatever they desire. This tone plays during the activation of the Whisper Page feature. It plays to all parties on the call, including the originator, to indicate that a page is occurring. The default tone is 440-Hz for a duration of 600 msec. There is a new keyword for the set of keywords for the Tone Name field.
This keyword is whisper-page."
You will find this in the system-parameters country options form. To turn the tone off, just customize the tone, and make it a silence of 500 mS, I think that should do the trick. ;-)

If you enable remote access I guess you would also be able to do this remote (ie not from a Definity station), just dial the FAC and extension after authenticating with remote access.

Cheers,
Nico
