I've a problem with one of our servers.
The server is a file-server and IIS-server running windows 2000. Configuration dell poweredge 2300dual PIII 450, scsi raid 256MB Ram.
After some time every user loses his connection to the server, after restarting the server service everything is back.
What causses the server service to go down, or is it an other problem, i thaught maybe to heavy network traffic, somethimes around 100 users connect + web server.
The Active directory and account syncronisation are located on this server.

SO, the server is patched agains these worms, tomorrow i'll check the event log.
Thanks

Yes , scanned with last dat-file, nothing found

besides checking for worm viruses, re-install NIC, re-apply SP. Also you could check rpc traffic using rpcmon.dll

Everytjing checked, nothing found, still same problem.
I shared a drive between 2 win 2k pro, after certain time they lose connection between them. I've set also the speed from autodetect to 100Mbit full duplex, still the same.
I has something to do with the server service, this service arrange the shares between pc's. Could it be a bug ?
I'll try new drivers for the nic.
Thx

Question, Does the client show an red X on the mapped drives when you open my computer, or does the client have to sit and wait forever when you try to open the share then returns an error message.

What is the error message on the client?

Yes a red X, or when a window is opened refering to that directory an message box with error is showed (connection not restored ...)
After clicken to have back a connection to the shared directory it takes a while, and when you, restart the server service on the computer with contains the shares everything is back normal.
