The Windows NT 4.00.1381 has a server problem where the network connection fails. When I run MS Word I get a message that the file will be saved and then the program closes.

When I go back into my network and open the file it is not saved.

My question is where does the network save my file. Is it network specific or does it save it somewhere on the C drive or somewhere on the network drive. Also, what would the name of the file be.

Thanks,

Jeff

Note: The lost file problem is noticed during the background save.

Do you open the file from within Word? Or do you browse for the file from Explorer? Normally you should do it the first way.

Unless you tell it otherwise it will save it to wherever you opened it from.
