There are several remote computers then I need to connect to from home on a regular basis. I use terminal services to get to them. I know all the IPs. However while at work I use the name not the IP.

How to I assign a server name to an IP so it has more meaning. My terminal services drop down is just a bunch of IP's. I want it to have a much more meaningful list. Know what I mean?

Thanks

Are you asking what you should call then or how to resolve them by name instead of an IP address?

Chris.

I'm using Win XP. Some of the names come accross at home when I'm using VPN but most do not so I end up using the IPs. No big deal but I just don't know which is which when I'm not going by the names.

To resolve by name you need to use either DNS, WINS or host files, presuming that NetBIOS isn't working over your VPN.

Easiest way is to add the names into the hosts file on the local machines
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
