We have a customer, who had their server hardened by default out of factory. It was done via an INF file.

Now, they want the hardening removed (not sure why), and I'm trying to figure out if there is a quick way of undoing the contents of the inf file, or will I need to go in and undo each setting manually? I tried going through Google, but there's only articles on applying server hardening, not undoing it. Anyone have any ideas?

If I recall, you can use the local security policy to reload the default settings from file.

Do you happen to know if there is a template and what it would be called?

Setupsecurity.inf contains the default security settings for a windows 2003 server, contains default settings created by windows 2003 setup program. If its a DC the default file is DCSecurity.inf, contains default file system and registry permissions for a domain controller.
