Hello. We have a file server that continues to give the following error: "...has experienced a critical error. It is going down in 2 minutes. Save your files and logout." This server is also a DHCP server and our network clients constantly get ip conflict message when it happens. Can anyone of you steer me into the right direction?

We need a bit more information to be able to help better. Check the file SYS:SYSTEM\ABEND.LOG and it will tell you what process/NLM is causing the server to do down.

In the meantime, have you run a DSREPAIR to repair the local DS database?

By the way, I fixed the error by restoring SYS from a previous backup. The problem started when our building lost electricity during a storm which probably cause some files to be corrupted. Thanks for the reply.
