Hi,
Can a Without-HDD-Client-Computer using only a network line to access the server?
Which means that the server will control everything:
1. Computer Computing System
2. All the Application Programs (such as MS Office)
3. Store all the documents (eg: .doc, .xls, .jpg, etc)
4. Antivirus.
5. All other application programs that needs for
business.

So, the clients cannot store anything in their computers but can only store the data in the server.

I would like to know if this is possible? Can this be done?

This is possible. These are known as Thin Clients, and if you search Tek-Tips for threads and forums relating to Thin Client, Citrix, Windows Terminals and Terminal Server, you will find an abundance of such information and experts able to help you.

Citrix uses a metaframe server environment.

I do not think this is exactly like a PC, but I have never used one. If you went to a computer show in a large city there would probably be an exhibit from Citrix or someone else doing just this.

Most things I have seen say that this is not really economical for under 100 users.

Personally having your own PC is a definate advantage. Even thin clients need maintenance.

The latest versions of Citrix just add features to the Remote Desktop features of Windows 2000 Server and 2003 Server. You could just buy some terminal server licenses for it and use that.

Just like what ceh4702 said, is that economical for a company under 100 users?

I am from Malaysia, I think the cost will be very high if we implement this cause not so many companies using this kind of technology.
