Server 2003-IIS and SUS

hope this is in the right forum...

just migrated SUS from an old 2000 server to a new 2003 server

went through the whole procedure (installed IIS 6.0 etc), everything seems fine, admin site can be accessed, synch works, etc

however the event log is recording the following errors many times at every synch (the synchs appear to work fine however)

Detection of product '{AFF0D9D3-6F0D-437E-9327-98108B4A8644}', feature 'WU' failed during request for component '{D31B2119-C240-4F8B-B13C-20EF38B2E070}'

the two errors are pretty much one in the same. The "missing" resource exists in the proper location with the proper perms so I suspect the error is related to IIS.

Any thoughts?

Fixed it.

Apparently its an issue of tightened security with Srv 2K3 SP1

you need to give read access to Network Service group to the WUSyncSvc.exe file and to the following directory

C:\Inetpub\

http://wwwroot\autoupdate\administration\shared
