Serial Number...

Hello All,

How can I find the serial number of a switch? How do I know weather it is running general business, enhanced, or enterprise software? All help is appreciated.

serial number is ld 22 tid, old tape id command still works, i would look at my install disk to find out more about the software

This give you infornation about type of software.

If you have a large system, you need to print all pakage installed in your system and compare with the pakages that software give you.

john poole's has the easiest way to get the serial number. javier's way will work if you are connected to tty 00. otherwise LD 22 is your best bet. you can print packages (PKG), patches (ISSP), issue and release (ISS), system limits (SLT) and plenty of other info there.
