Is there any way to view the serial number of an extension card (analog extension card/ digital extension card) not removing it on the control unit..??
Yes you can, depending on the release though,
On a R9 system go to the web-interface,
Open the Ip Office Webmanager
then go to onboarding,
then "Get inventory file",
This will produce an XML file.
This file contains the serials of the boards, license keys, and a lot more.
But on the xml file doesn't include specfic location on the board which is defective rigth? But I guess I have to shutdown the control unit and pull out the board which is defective. Thanks alot for your help.
Last I checked (2 seconds ago), all the serial numbers are the same. My combo card has the same serial as my chassis. I don't think they embed that information into the hardware, only on a label.
Not recommended...but if it's a matter of life and death, you can unscrew the cover and gently move it backwards till you see the S/N label. (Make sure the grounding cable is securely fixed to the chassis...everyone does that, right?)
But don't you have a shipping document from your Distri or an invoice that is linked to this particular sale?
I put the S/N on the invoice for phones and parts when sent to the end user, so they can't screw me over with "Ebay-items".
Kind regards
Gunnar

@Gunnaro Yes I do. But there's many of them and I don't know which i which in my IPO. Thanks for the advice.
@AAcon Every card has it's own S/N that's for sure sticked on their boards. Not sure what number did you see.
