hi, i´m trying to transfer an ascii file from one pc to another using the comm control, but i don´t know how to break apart this file so i can transfer it.
Also i don´t know how to configure the comn control.

any advice would help

Hi!
Open the VBTerm example app that comes with VB - it's fairly easy to break apart and change to your liking.
I use a mutated version to simulate a wall display - data out thru one port from a standard app that thinks it's streaming to a wall display, and then my app reads the other port (they are connected! ;-)) translates the data stream and stores the data in a database. (makes it possible to direct the wall display messages to the specific people it concerns)
