separating a duo tone in quark

How can I design a 2 color in photoshop that will separate in quark. In the past the duotone separates into cmyk when placed in quark. One color will be black. One pms 199 red.

Are you seperating to a printer or to PDF?

Or are you making a Combined PDF then letting the RIP seperate the file?

If it's the last one, then, under the print menu>Output change PrintColours to Device N.

Are you saving your PhotoShop file as a Image>Mode>Duotone - PhotoShop EPS? I have never had any trouble with Quark separating them.

Also make sure that the PMS names in Photoshop are spelled the same way in Quark. Photoshop sometime puts a CVC at the end of the Pantone name.
In Quark depending on what version - -you might get a CV, or a C at the end of the Pantone name.

You can edit the names in the color pallete
