Greetings!

I'm rather new at playing deeply with this system, and could really use some guidance.

We've got a MICS 4.1, and a Flash 2.0.10.

Currently, things are set up using Greeting-1 for morning, afternoon, and evening, and Greeting-2 for non-business. Everything currently is using Greeting Table-1, and CCR-1.

Path-1 currently directs callers to a choice of two internal extensions. I'm being asked to change the system so that Path-1 is an external transfer to one of our other offices, but ONLY on Saturdays and Sundays.

I've been reading through the manuals and trying to wrap my brain around this, and I'm not quite sure how to put this into effect.

I appreciate your time!

You can't do it with a Flash. But, someone could manually Ftr 4 (Forward) both telephones to the external #. So no matter their choice, the AA would transfer to the telephones and they forward to the external #.

Are you sure I can't do an external xfer using flash? We've got a couple CCR-tree paths set up that way already, and they work.

After doing some more reading yesterday, I think maybe this will work:

Add a Path-6 to the CCR tree that does the ext-xfer to the other number. Have greeting-1 and greeting-2 include the recording of the current Path-0, and create a greeting-3 for use on saturdays only, that will mention Path-6 rather than Path-1. Then, change Path-0 to just a 1-second pause or somesuch.

This way, Greeting-3 will auto-play during saturdays, greeting-2 during standard non-business times, and greeting-1 during regular business hours. Automatic, and no need for the users (who I have to remind even to record their name, so they show up in the directory) to ever even do anything. Sad, but unfortunately the users of the phone system are severely non-technically-inclined.

That'll work, good job on reading up. What I meant is you can't have DIFFERENT CCR TREES play according to the time of day or week. Yes, a Flash will External Transfer.

a flash can do external xfers it just doesn't have multiple ccr tree ability by time or day like a call pilot...

Ah, if only... that would be a rock solid system that's easily configured, for just about anything. Basically, it's not even the CCR that should be changed, just the one path, but that's asking a little too much. I like the system for the most part, I'm thinking it was probably one of the top-tier ones when it was first introduced. Maybe when they decide to upgrade, I'll see about taking the system home, and setting up a nice PBX there. :)

Thanks for the help, guys!

Fix for this is to leave path 1 xfer intercom xx path 2 xfer intercom xx and make an path 3 xfer external number.

Next make greetings 1 and 2 provide both the greeting and instructions for weekday operation do not say anything about option 3 here.
next make greeting 3 povide the instruction to include path 3 for the external transfer.
next record path 0 with something simple like "please make your entry now" (there has to be something recorded in path 0 so keep it ambiguous)
and last set greetings 1 for weekday days, greeting 2 for weekday nights, and greeting 3 for all weekend timeslots.

you will note that all the options are available at all times you just don't tell the callers that they are.

The only downfall to that scenario is that callers who are used to dialing those options during your business hours aren't likely to listen to the weekend greeting before making a selection.

Hence the new options on the Call Pilot.

Truth, you can only tell them something not make them listen.
