I'm working with a presentation design team that's developing a demo for the marketing guys to take to a possible client's office in London next month. We're trying to be prepared in case we need to respond to them with new designs or new information during their three day trip. I'm not a designer and I've never had to develop systems for communicating overseas before. Will we have any trouble sending powerpoint files as an email attachment overseas, playing them, getting them back with edits, sending them again... any pitfalls to watch out for?
e-mail is e-mail. If you can send and recieve them here, you can do it there. The biggest problem will be getting connected. Are you using RAS or doing mail over the Internet?
Jeff
masterracker@hotmail.com

Jaeson: Of course, MasterRacker is right. But I think your concern is the compatibility of Powerpoint(american) -vs- Powerpoint(uk). You may want to consider sending the files as shows and not as presentations. To do this, use the "Pack and Go" feature and include the Powerpoint viewer.
I know that in England, the master slide format is different, but this should not affect your presentations. I worked on several of their files and it did not affect theirs. The only problem I had was recreating a master that looked like theirs, but you shouldn't have to do that. I do believe they'll work as you create them. The P&G is just a consideration and will work even if they DON'T have Powerpoint. A good test might be to have them email YOU a presentation to see if anything is odd when you run it.

You should have no problem, I send powerpoint animated files all over the world. The only problem is if like myself you keep updated.

2002 has a lot of functions that will not work on computers that are still back with the ark and as of yet there is no pack and go to support it.

as said above use the show if you fill other are not up to scrach
