Is it possible to send messages to people who have a front end of a database open?

the front end lives on thier local computers, and the messages should would be any sort of msgbox.

basically I'm wondering if I could initiate a msgbox event on all database front ends which currently is accessing the back end...

Hello,

the only possible solution is a timer event whitch check a entry in a special table on your backend.

A other solution is, to check who is logged in to your backend and send a Msg per "net send".

thats it

so, how do I find out who's logged into the back end?

Besides just using network tools to see who has the file open, there are Access ways.

Look here:

Also, do a search on this site for programmatically attaching to the LDB to see who is in the database. There was a pretty handy utility linked to in a recent discussion.
