You need to make it HTML mail, to include the image inline, I think.
For that I believe you'll need a separate control that gives you the ability to send HTML mail.
I use version 6 of the controls from /nsoftware. Mail, and a LOT more.
I think they are about $295.
You may be able to find some cheaper, and possibly even free.
