We are testing some different VoIP phones and want only a certain extension range to use the T-1 we are using in our test lab. Is there a way to send a block of about ten numbers to one t-1 and block the rest. Let me know, Thanks for any help.

Use NCOS. change your routing so CALL GO TO your test T1 and make the NCOS/FRL required higher than the normal phone so they won't be able to use that T1 and make your VOIP phone the higher NCOS so they can use it. The lower NCOS phones will skip the test T1 and use the normal route.

the rlb picks the route, and assigns the frl, that is the match for ncos. on this post i am sending 1700 thru 1709 to a cisco call manager, then create those ext in the cisco and you can dial them 4 digits. i have never allowed a user to dial the acod for any reason

I agree with John on this 100%. I have been doing VoIP testing with Cisco and Motel gateways recently, and I used this same approach to send test calls out my test loop and let all other calls stay on the current T1's.

This also makes it easy in case you need to change loops (routes) for testing purposes, and has no impact on production traffic.

Hope this helps,

Scott M.

I think the question was how to make a certain group of phones (when they dial from the group of phones) to go out over a certain route.

We only want the extension of the test phones to be on that T-1 and let them use it for their traffic back and fourth. Thanks johnpoole and srmega41 for your help on this.

that depends on the current switch setup, if your not using ncos 7, make those phones ncos 7, then build entry 0 in your rlb to reflect the new route with an frl of 7.. that does mean that the old entry 0 needs to be your entry 1.. 1 to 2 etc.. phones with ncos 7 will take enter 0 because it's the 1st one they are presented and they have the ncos required.. anyone with an ncos below 7 will be blocked from that entry and be routed to the next entry in the rlb.. if the pri is down, the switch routes the call down the list of entries
