Sending bespoke Cli per extension or group of extensions 1

Hi

Looking at using public unknown numbering for sending out a "unique" Cli per extension or groups of extensions. At present we have a generic NGN cli in place at network level - based in uk running CM6.3.

Would we need to have no network CLi in place configue public unknown and trunk groups to show the dialling code infront of the extension?

What type of trunks are you using...???

I ask because i have found that with SIP on certain carriers i can send whatever i want from public unknown (quite dangerous and potentially illegal)

On Idsn trunks any number you want to present must be owned by you and currently exist on the isdn pipe.

They are isdn's, the idea is to have a select CLi sent from certain "teams" Offices etc but they all break out over the same isdn's. The current NGN CLI we send is being "ignored" by the called party and the business are looking for a solution.

I think any CLi you don't recognise will be ignored but the business want a better solutiuon1 Even if it's possible they haven't thought out what happens wif the called party calls back and how that's handled?

OK so as i mentioned you set that up in the public unknown numbering tables "change pub"

So in the below example when extn 1234 dials out over trunk group 1 , it sends 07777777777 to line , obviously this is just an example but you get the picture .. right ??

WARNING WARNING ...in the UK by LAW if you as a business send out a number to a customer , the customer must be able to call that number back and get a valid call treatment.

yep got it.

Guessing we would need to have any network service provided CLi in place removed or does the Pub unknown "overwrite" network applied Cli - I'm thinking not - is that correct?

Well that kind of depends on how your CLI presentation is set , you will always send a Default CLI , but most providers by default will allow manipulation of said CLI as long as you own it , obviously the default CLI needs to be there as a back up in case of incorrect configuration so your customers still see some thing that is legible.

Best thing to do is actually ring the provider and ask how many digits they are actually sending/expecting from the pbx some want 3 others 6 etc etc , if you want you can easily test this by manipulating the public table to send... in my example you would change the 07777777777777 11 bit to say 077 3 , 0777 4 , 07777 5 and so on , ring your mobile and when the cli changes you know you have the correct parameters set.
