Does anyone know if it's possible to send an email task to outlook from SQL 2000, like when a sproc or trigger fires and email, instead it sends it as an outlook task?

"I don't want to sell anything, buy anything or process anything as a career. I don't want to sell anything bought or processed... or buy anything sold or processed... or process anything sold, bought or processed... or repair anything sold, bought or processed. You know, as a career, I don't want to do that."

As far as I know, it is not possible. The only time SQL talks to Outlook is when it's trying to send an email.

If anyone knows otherwise, though, please correct me.

No.

That said, if you install something that can send via SMTP directly such as xp_smtp_sendmail you can send an html email which is formatted in the same way that Outlook sends a task.

The basic idea is send a task via outlook to a POP3 account. Pop that account using a telnet window and see how the email is formatted. Then manually craft an email that looks the same with the correct task info in it.

I would assume that this would work, I've only done it for blackberry contact info not a task.
