How do I send a message from a linux machine to another linux machine? I know that write and talk work with users on the same system. I want to send messages from one machine to another. Please help.


P.S. Is there a way to send a message from a windows machine to a linux machine? I doubt there is though. smbclient sends messages from linux to windows machines.

talk" can talk to someone at another machine, though nowadays it isn't likely that the machine will allow it. If they are both your machines, you can certainly enable that..
