Is there a way to send a message to all display phones on a Definity G3Si R11? The network group wants to able to notify users if there is an outage/issue quickly. I could use a broadcast vmail message but I don't think most end users will check their voicemail.

Perhaps LWC

Any help is appreciated

not sure how long of a message you would like to send to the phones, but you could use crisis alert for this.

Set up a partticular number in the ars pattern say 922
set the call type as alrt
cha sys cris
every station responds to N

Set up a crisis alert "crss-alert" button on all the phones you want to alert

Then set up a station where the name is the message you want to send. Only the first 17 char. are used in the crisis alert, so maybe "email dn 4 nxt hr" or, "inet back in srvs"

Then from that new extension call 922 and all phones with the alrt button will show the name of the station you just set up.

Definately not the best solution, but doable.

I tried this but I get dead air when I dial the '922'. In the ars ana what route pattern do I use? What abt the other fields onthat screen? Help !

any number would work for the alrt number. for example I have my home phone number set to alert my desk if someone calls it, I also have alert set on 1411. You can use any number for this, depending on your dial plan 922 might not work for you. But if you have an extra DID you could add that to your ars pattern and it should alarm when you call it. But like I said you can make any number in the ars ana an alrt number.

if you use a local number for the alrt, use the regular route pattern. If you still wanted to use 922 assuming it was allowed in your dialplan, again just use regluar (local) route pattern. In the ars ana min=3, max=3, rt pattern = your local rt pattern, type alrt, node blank, ani rqd = n
