Could anyone please tell me if there is any validity for the self test software..i.e. how often do they update the questions?

When you say "validity", I'm not sure what exactly it is you are asking. Do you mean, does it successfully prepare you for you certification? The answer to that would be an astounding "Yes".
I've used them for both Oracle and Microsoft certs and have never been disappointed. IMHO: They are the best practice test out there!!!
