When i try to select a Contact from the Contacts list from MS Outlook when sending a new Mail, it displays the list with the conatcts name and what type of contact it is e.g. Joe Bloggs (Email).

What i want to do is display this list so it shows the company name e.g. Microsoft (Email)

I have arranged the contacts to store as Company name but when you are sending a new mail it still shows the contact name and not the company.

You can not enter a name and then it shows the Company name but is there a better solution?

Hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance.

Since a company can have many people and each person has a unique (should anyway) email address it's not practical to send email by company name UNLESS that's how you enter it (instead of John Jones you put Microsoft as the NAME).

So, the answer is no. Email shows by the Name entered.

All right. I am going to take a stab at this.

Go into tools->options->preferences->contact options->default->file as->select company from the drop down list.

The email will still have the person's name as the "to" person. But, you will be able to find them by company in your contacts list.

I am making a guess that you may have contacts that are not necessarily personal, but you would like to address them personally ...but be able to file them by the company they work at.

I hope that this is helpful, and helps you achieve what you need it to.

I might have misunderstood - do you want to view your list by company or have the email name displayed in the TO box as company instead of the person's name?

CJTyo is right. I want to list the names displayed in the TO: box as Company and not Personal but it looks like it can not be done.

I have tried Doroth answer before hand but does not make a difference.

It was not actually Email i wanted it for, it was faxing which the user uses on a regular basis but does not know the people who work for all the companies listed as he has about 800.

Thanks anyway.
