Is there any utility (free or otherwise) that will help visualize the NTFS security on a directory tree?

With inheritance, it can get confusing trying to figure out where permissions originate from, and where inheritance is blocked, etc.

Is there ant utility that can help make this easier for a large directory tree?

Thanks.

Have you tried the Reskit utility SHOWACLS which will show you the ACL for all folders and subfolders by using the /S parameter. It isn't pretty but it works.
