Security Group Problems

im having a few problems with Security Groups in AD, we recently migrated from 5.5 to 2003.

the situation is we have a web based program which uses AD Groups to define the security levels for each user, now ive been asked to create a new Group in AD which is no problem. the group is populated with a test user. So i then add the new group into the Web Sites Security Section and the user should the be able to access different areas this doesnt work.

But when i get a old Security Group which was made in 5.5 it works fine.

Does anyone have any suggestions

You are not telling anything about what type of group you are creating? Distribution group? Security group? local, global, university group and so on?

its a global security group

I think you must have overseen something. Have you checked the NTFS-rights for the directories that this web-program is running from? That the old security group and the new one you created are given the same rights?

What type of group is the old 5.5 group converted to?
