Hi All,

We are planning our upgrade from 5.5 to 7.0. I was going through our equipment and upgrade procedures and noticed that on the signaling servers in calls for a security dongle. In my case we have a Dell R300 and in the procedures it calls to install the dongle on the inside. My problem is that I didn't recieve and security dongle. Does this dongle still being used?

Thanks for the help.

I think the dongle is only needed if you are going to be running the Call Server application (Co-Res) on the server. If it's just SS/NRS/EM, etc, you should be fine.

Cool, thanks for the info.

I haven't gotten to do one of these in the field yet, it's a USB dongle for the COTS servers, correct? CPMG / CPDC / CPPM co-res still use the on-board coin dongle, right?

Well, this is my first go around with 7.0. It is a USB Dongle for the COTS Servers not sure about the CPMG/CPDC/CPPM co-res.

Co-res servers use the on board dongles, same as a CPPM or pentium 4 processor.
