Sometimes a question or one like it has already been answered in the forum. For example, three questions posted in this forum during the past week asked how to make a cross-tab query in T-SQL. Each asked in a different way. Although the differences make it difficult to identify similar questions, it is not altogether impossible.
We can all save time by doing a few quick queries of the forum for words that might refer us to a question that is similar to ours. Looking through the previously posted questions and answers has proven helpful for me.
In addition, when I've found posts that were helpful, I've marked them even if they weren't in reply to my own questions. It is good to let people know that their posts are useful. Terry
