Is anyone having any luck with using the new search engine?

Since they changed it, my search results are much worse, and I can't see how to tailor a search for version specific Crystal questions.

Can anyone elighten me as to how a version specific search is performed, or if it's now a part of a paid service?

How annoying not to be able to search by version. Couldn't find anyway to do it I'm afraid k - either as a free or paid for service

I don't like it much either, but if you go to support->support by product->select "Crystal Reports"->enter your keyword(s)->search, a section will appear on the right "Focus your results"->by version->select your version.

Thanks, LB, I've seen that, but it doesn't search by results, it filters after the fact, and does a poor job of that.

More proof that BO has never understood the concept of querying databases, rather build a counter intuitive front end to selectively do a few proprietary things well.

I'd expected ot read that there was a pay site that had an intelligently designed search engine, or at least the old one.

Didn't BOBJ just partner with Google on something...?

You would think that adding Google-Search to their support site could have been part of the package.

Not sure, MJRBIM, but I would think that Google would open us up to even less appropriate searches.

I tend to use Yahoo with the +, -, and double quotes for searching and I get much more tailored results, Google seems to be the ultimate search engine, if you prefer quantity to quality.

It does have the feel of Google now that you mention it. Then again, someone who knows the subleties of the google engine probably has better results than mine.
