Say I have a folder with 100 smallish spreadsheets in it.
I want to search them all to find a piece of text, (a serial number).

Can it be done ?

If at first you don't succeed, keep at it until you can't even think straight !

Hi,

Why not use the OFFICE Search feature to search for your value in that folder?

Thanks Skip

Took me a few minutes to figure out what you meant - but great !

For those other dense (like me) folks, I found it by going to "open office document" on the start bar, selecting the folder I wish to search, selecting "tools" at the top of r/h of the window, click "find", then fill in the "define more criteria" boxes, with "property" set to "contents" etc.

Very handy - all these years both myself and our other staff did not know about that one !
