A client of mine wants the ability to search through the text in emails held in Exchange Server 2003. Tools like Copernic do not work with Exchange and I can't find anything that does.
Is there any way that this can be done?

Really long winded way would be to export all the mailboxes to PST then you'd have to search through them individually.

Better would be an archiving solution like GFI or Symantec Enterprise Vault.
Can work out quite expensive though.

Also note that by default they don't handle items in the Exchange dumpster, you'd still have to exmerge those items out and import them into your archive to search through.

Depending on organisation size (ie if it's very small) you could give the person permissions to view the mail boxes and add then all to outlook and search. Not ideal but can't think of another way, some one may know a tool (obviously not a good idea if the org has any sort of size to it).
