I have a Win2K Pro laptop, that under the start menu when go to SEARCH the container is empty. The next level window opens but is empty, so I cant search from the start menu. I can get to the search by right clicking "My Computer" but my first reaction is to always go to the start menu. I believe that something has been deleted from the registry but I am unsure where or when. This an annoyance that I would like to get rid of. Any help would be great.

I would try and install the latest service pack. Depending on how import this is to you, you could reinstall the OS over the one you have know. You will have to probably reinstall all your drivers and re setup all your settings.
