search feature not working

Hi,

I have installed Sharepoint team services on a W2k Server and after uploading some documents I wanted to try the search feature, but when I do it says that the service is not running. When I go to the internet services manger for IIS it says that the Sharepoint search proxy is running. Any ideas on what the problem is?
