We are having an issue with the lower end WYSE terminals where specific applications loose the focus on particular internal windows that are opened

For instance in Word, when Customizing the users Defauls Toolbars, you cannot drag and drop the toolbars from withiin the window because Citrix (or the WYSE terminal) is treating the window as a separate application.

Similarly, when switching to another application and returning to the previous, if the previous had a window open internally, it will usually disappear and revert to the background normally rendering the "main" app windows useles because its waiting for a response from the secondary application window.

This is our Pilot install and all the users are experiencing the same issue, and we cant get PROJECT SIGNOFF without fixing this issue! ARRGH!

If anyone can help, or even point in a direction of something REMOTELY similar then I will be forever in your debt!

We are having similar issues without resolution. The problem exists with our Wyse 1200 LE's running ICA. We had installed the latest firmware from Wyse hoping to take care of the issue, but it was worse, as focus was flipping constantly from window to window. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you guys experience this ANYWHERE on your network or is it primarily on ly on the slower WAN links to your sites?

I have difficulties replicating similar issues unless the link speed is somewhat slower than LAN sped. Althought it does still occur on the LAN its no where near as frequent..

We are running a VPN over business grade ADSL with a speed of 1500/512 i think.. :-)

If ANYONE has ANYTHING that might be REMOTELY similar your help and assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Again thanks!

Hi,

Don't know what version of MetaFrame you are on but in SP1 I had to configure:-

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
System
CurrentControlSet
Control
Citrix
wfshell
TWI
SeamlessFlags DWORD 40 (64 in decimal)

Hope this helps,
Carl.

Carl,

Thanks for the update, can you confirm that every server will need this registry mod? or just the Data Collector?

Thanks again for your valuable info!

Cheers

Hi

All your application servers.

But, on terminals, I don't think Seamless apps run like a PC so you may not be able to run multiple ones.

I'll test it on one of my neoware boxes.

Cheers,
Carl.

Carl,

we were currently trialling / using the WYSE 1125 Terminals, however to no avail as we continue to get these "quirky" issues with the embedded ICA Client in the firmware.

We have a neoware box for testing at present, (capio i think?) Do you know if it can be automatically setup to get all its details desktop background etc form the network (ie over FTP or other?) or is there a specific server that needs to be running a service or similar?

Essentially whatever works 100% is what we are going to go with... :-)

Cheers
James

Hi,

Can you explain what you are trying to achieve? Is this for terminals or the Citrix Desktop?

Cheers,
Carl.

As I can read it you are trying to automatically configure the thin clients over ftp or something like that...

Might be a good idea to check great thin clients with superb management software....

in regards to the above it was move for an automatic setup of the neoware terminals.

For the wyse terminals at present, we can simply unpackage the terminal and plug it into the network, and it will configure itself over FTP and connect to the CTX server, load the desktop background etc...

Do you know if this is possible for the neoware terms?

Thanks again!
James

Hi,

Using their software you can push configurations out automatically, I'll post your question to the UK Sales Manager and see if he can get it answered.

Cheers,
Carl.
