SDI4 Paddleboard 2

Hi All,

OK, i have been through the NTP 553-3001-107 (Got this from Paddleboard), I have configured the paddle board correctly, all dip switches, etc, programmed adan tty 0,1,2,4.

what cable do i need? or is there something that i am missing?

I think you are after the NT8D84 cable from the paddle board to the I/O panel. There is then a NT8D93 cable that goes from the I/O panel to the external equipment. I believe the pinouts for the NT8D84 cable is non standard configuration so you cannot directly connect external equipment to this cable. Hope this helps?

The ADAN numbers should be in sequence. 0,1 and 2,3 or 0,1 and 4,5. You cannot have the sequence as 0,1,2,4.

Mluckie i have it configured the way you say, wrote the post very quickly, was leaving site, thanks....

Hasago, all the cables are correct, but I do have a question with regards to NT8D93, I connect the 9pin to the I/O panel and then i have 25 connecter, do i need a null modem connecter and 25 - 9 pin for my PC?

you shouldn't that is determined by the dip switch settings on the card.

As per the above comments from mluckie1, the DIP settings determine DCE or DTE settings - you will need to refer to documentation for the switch settings.

The nice thing about the SDI4 paddle board is that all of the dip switch settings are labeled on the card itself. in most cases you can see them even when the card is seated.

Thanks all, the problem was 0 & 1 were both set to DCE, one has to be DTE and the other DCE,
