Hi

I have a IP500v2 8.0.18.

The system done a timed reboot on Friday. When it had done the reboot and the customer tried to login the following day he got the message

" system not running system SD software "

The monitor trace shows the system did 5 reboots and then got stable.

You can't make any changes to the system at present.

Has anyone seen this before and what they did to resolve it!!

Thanks in advance

Nick

I have seen this.
You will need to recreate the SD card.
In fact i have a demo system (inhouse) which is doing this right now.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Best thing they ever did was moving to SD cards......oh hang on, no it wasn't :)

Yep; saw this on an R6 system before. Hosed it right up. Indeed, need to format and recreate. Super fine those SD cards.

Had one do it today also. Was able to "Upload System Files" in embedded file management, rebooted and all seems well now.

Reboot
Power Cycle
Recreate SD Card
Replace SD Card

start at the top and work down. one will fix it!!!!!

You may see Primary Boot Location as NAND Flash in SSA when this happens. Seen a few go this way.

Hi

Thanks for all the responses.

If I needed to format/recreate the SD card what would be the quickest way in terms of down time for the customer?

Could I take SD card out of live system which gives me the 2 grace period and recreate the card while the system is still live?

Thanks nick

Remove the SD card, you will have two hours before the licenses go invalid.
Then put it in a card reader and copy it to a folder (backup)
Then format it with manager.
Then do a recreate with manager
Then copy back the config and call log and other log files.
Then put it back in and reboot the ipo.

Don't forget to do a shutdown on the card first. Do not pop it out while the system is hot without doing that.

What happens if you need to recreate a R7 SD card but you have R8 Manager loaded on the PC?

Can you select which path to use if you have the R7 bins?

You need to point the working directory to a folder that has the R7 files.
I always install a version and then copy the file "manager" and rename it to "manager_7_0_27" or what ever it should be.
This way you can do this very easy.

Or grab a copy of the memory cards folder from the correct manager version.

I did raise a GRIP and asked Tier III to allow this folder to be downloadable, but no one saw it as an issue. Back to the days if having bucket loads of managers On your lappy!!!!
