I have recently aquired two Seagate SCSI interfaces 9.1GB Cheetas and an Adaptec AHA-2940U2W PCI Host card.

The PCI Host card installation was preety much a no brainer with XP detecting it upon boot up. I proceeded to power down the system then installed the two hdds.

SCSI Bios detected the two storage devices well enough, but XP didnt show clue of two extra drives. I checked the device manager and found, under storage device, two devices named "S". This is kinda weird since the model number of the harddisks is ST39103LC.

I have ealier tested the harddisks on a pc with native SCSI support...it worked like a charm. I cant understand why it doesnt on my system.

Any form of help is much appreciated. Information is free....dont hog it!

Just to add.....

Harddsiks are connected with a 2 port 50pin SCSI cable. Since the hdds are SCA interfaced, I used a SCA to 50pin converter to connect to the 50pin on the PCI Host card.

Not sure if this matters but just though anyone who could enlighten me would need this info.

Can you see the drives from a command window? (d:, e:)
Are you maybe running something like "tweakui" and have them hidden by it?
