I'm having an issue where windows is reporting disk errors under load.

Source Disk
Event ID 11

The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk0.

Explanation
This problem is typically caused by a failing cable that connects the drive to the computer.

User Action
Replace the cable.

Has anyone seen this error before and is it likly to be the disk or the cable, there are 2 disks on the cable?

Running 2003 SP1

Thanks.

I've had those errors on most of my Intel SE7501HG2 server with onboard scsi. I never noticed any real problems other than the occasional error. I suppose it might be a firmware error and never bothered to investigate more. One thing though, make sure any tape backup device is on a separate SCSI Channel.

I'll take a look at the SCSI channel thanks. I'm seeing allot of these errors maybe 20 or 30 during a virus scan and heavy load, but it's only just started happening recently and as far as i know nothing has changed.
