Scrolling squeaks 1

I just noticed that whenever I use the mouse wheel to scroll in internet explorer, a squeaking sound is made.
No other programs exhibit this when using the scroll wheel.
Any ideas? I'm about to go insane.

WinXP pro.
This just started a few days ago and its freaking me out. Its not a virus/spyware, as I've done multiple scans.
Any ideas?

Check for add-ons to IE: Tools->Manage Add-ons

There was something called "Research". Didn't sound so good so I disabled it. It looks to have solved the problem. Strange.

That's good. My next suggestion was going to be to open the mouse with a screwdriver and look for rodents.
