Good morning,

I am scripting the install of W2K3 using the unattend.txt. During the installation it automatically converts the C:\ partition to NTFS but not the D:\ partition. ...so my thinking was just script the command "convert.exe d:\ /fs:ntfs" to run during my post install script which Microsoft states runs more eficiently anyway.

Well, it doesn't work because the convert utility then prompts for the current volume name. Thankfully it will always be the same so I could script it in...but I'm not finding a way to either:
a) pipe the volume name into convert.exe
b) a command line switch that will work

Thank you in advance for you input into this issue!

Eric

Using KB130913 I found how to stop the conversion of a volume...reversing the logic presented in the KB article, I modified the registry to do a conversion on the next reboot.

Since in this scenario I am working with scripting/automating the installation and configuration of W2K3 server another automated reboot is not that big of a deal...

Thats probably your best bet. There is another way 9I think) to specify your other drives and formatting type in unattend/sysprep, but I dont know it off the top of my head. Your way sounds easier anyway.
