Can someone tell me how I can run a regkey from active directory on my clients every time a new version of my software comes out.
I want to run this script only ones, not every time the pc boots.
I don’t want the users to get prompted for ok or so and I don’t want to give them admin rights on the machines.

Please advice.

Runas /profile /user:jsmith@mycompany.com "regedit /s d:\temp\myapp.reg"

i get promted for a password and if i put this in a login or logoff script it runs every time the machine boots or shuts down.

I have placed a startup script in the computer configuration of a gpo and placed the computers in a ou and it works but only without the <yes command witch should keep the users from clicking yes to run the regfile before they login, I really need this to be solved please advice.

This is a question that is possible with vbscripts. I am not a great vbscript writer but if you should look in the vbscript section. Post it there they know the answer for sure.

You can take a look at my scripting FAQ faq329-5798. I give some examples of making registry edits within the FAQ.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
