Why do I get message window pop up indicating script error on "line x" etc, etc. then asks if I want to continue running scripts on the page. What are scripts and Can I turn it off.

Java scripts in web pages that your browser can't handle. Any where from your browser having problems to web page author doing something stupid.
Tell it to continue with the page. You might be able to pick up on something missing. Or it could be something that is hidden from you. Ed Fair

Hello, mrfixall.

If it's coming from the webpages, you probably can't do anything about correcting it.

To avoid the annoyance, (1) on Netscape you have the option to turn off Javascript under Edit | Preference. This may overkill. You might have to let Javascript enabled to view pages despite some errors; (2) on MSIE, you can set script debugging disabled under Tools | Internet Options | Advanced settings.
