I've been having this problem lately when i have a couple of different "browsers" open and uploading or downloading files at the same time. My computer starts to hang...then my redraw goes away. I close open windows and Task Manager sees them as being shutdown, but the screen doesn't get rid of the graphics. I seemed to have fixed it a couple of times when emptying the cache for internet explorer...but it keeps coming back. Does anyone have any ideas? It couldn't be bad ram...could it? Everything seems to run fine when not connected to the internet.

See if any of the registry tweaks on this site will help your problem. I have used ones for W2K and XP and they help alot, especially to increase bandwidth.

so you think its just a matter of me pushing the bandwidth to its maximum that causes a faulty screen redraw?
