i'm deploying Scopia xt5000 server + Scopia XT DESKTOP SERVER working with somes desktop clients and mobile clients + IP OFFICE 500V2 .
how many licence do i need ? do i need licence per desktop or mobile client or just a SMB9 licence ?

You don't need extra licenses per client.
The smb9 for ip office gives you 9 participants (excluding the xt 5000). It used to be 9 including the xt 5000 but it was changed).
The smb9 requires the presence of the Ip500v2 on the network to register a SIP extension for licensing.
You can tell if you have the smb9 version by logging in to the codec unit. If it is the smb9 for ip office bundle you will see 'IP Office' in the logo in the top left of the home screen.

You cannot bridge codec units to make 18 or 27 participants.

You'll also need a SIP endpoint license in the IPO.

Here's a witty rejoinder for you.

so , i need an SMB9 licence for the xt5000 and 9 participant and i need a sip endpoint licence for the IPO?

YOU also need 'avaya ip endpoint license' and register scopia with sip account your multi party conference will only work when you have registered scopia as sip account with IPO 500,and also enable 'reserve avaya IP endpoint licence' parameter.

but whats the reason to integrate IPO with Scopia XT5000 ? Digital, IP phones can join the conference ?

We have Deployed Scopia XT5000 in a Non-IPO environment as a stand alone.
SMB9 provides full functionality as multipoint video conferencing bridge.
External users/clients will be reqested by the system to download small app/software when they first attempt to join conference. Works well will iPhone and PC's. Have no clients using Droid so I cannot attest to those devices. Highly recommend this unit for entry into Videoconferencing segment.

Android client works great as I can attest from personal experience. Our office has a BYO-device policy so we've got iPhones and Android scattered throughout the company (no Blackberry left though and no one brave enough to try windows-based).

The SIP connection to the IPO will register the XT5000 as an extension that can be called for audio-only participants. Nice if you have someone driving that needs to be a part of whatever is going on.
